Miscarriage

Definition

Any pregnancy that ends before the baby is viable or the loss of a baby with a gestational age of 24 weeks or less.

Symptoms: Slight vaginal bleed with light or dull colour, dizziness, tinnitus. At night – urination, soreness and weakness of the lower back and knees, bearing-down sensation over the lower abdomen.
Tongue: pale tongue with light coating
Pulse: Rolling and Deep
Treatment strategy: Strengthening the kidney and nourishing the fetus
Formula: Shou Tai Wan plus Dang Shen and Bai Shu

Symptoms: Pink and thin bloody discharge, accompanied by tiredness, breathlessness, poor appetite, loose bowel movement, pale or yellowish complexion or palpitations.
Tongue: Pale tongue with white and light coating
Pulse: Rolling, Weak and Thready

Symptoms: Flushed face, dry mouth or thirst with preference for cold drinks, irritability or hyperactivity and restlessness.

Trauma or injury

Symptoms: Lower abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding after a trauma or injury.
