Causes and Pathological Mechanisms
- Qi Deficiency
- Blood Heat
- Blood Stasis
- Leading to lack of solidity of Chong Ren and failure in controlling bleeding in menstruation
Patterns
- Symptoms: Profuse menstruation, pale colour, clear and thin quality, tired shen, lassitude, short of breath, indolence of speech, empty and sinking feeling in Xiao Fu, pale and puffy face.
- Tongue: Pale tongue with thin coating
- Pulse: Moderate and Weak
- Treatment strategy: Tonify and uplift qi and solidify Chong to stop bleeding
- Formula: An Chong Tang
- Acupoints:
- Symptoms: Profuse menstruation, bight red and dark red colour, sticky and thick quality, thirsty for cold drink, vexation, many dreams, constipation and dark urine.
- Tongue: Red tongue with yellow coating
- Pulse: Slippery and Rapid
- Treatment strategy: Clear away heat , cool blood and solidify Chong to stop bleeding
