Definition

A condition with bleeding as the main symptom caused by failure of blood to circulate in the vessels and blood discharges through the urine (hematuria).

Lower Jiao heat

  • Symptoms: Urination of bright red blood, dark urine with burning sensation, vexation, thirst for drink, flushed face, mouth sores and restless sleep.
  • Tongue: Red tongue
  • Pulse: Rapid
  • Treatment strategy: Clear heat, purge fire and cool blood to stop bleeding
  • Formula: Xiao Ji Yin Zi

Kidney Deficient Fire

  • Symptoms: Scanty urination with blood, dizziness, tinnitus, flushed cheeks, tidal fever, lower back and knee aches.
  • Tongue: Red tongue
  • Pulse: Thready and Rapid
  • Treatment strategy: Nourish yin, reduce fire and cool blood to stop bleeding
  • Formula: Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan

Spleen failure in commanding Blood

  • Symptoms: Protracted urination of blood, pale complexion, tiredness and lassitude, breathlessness, low voice, with or without gum bleed and hematohidrosis.
