Definition

A condition with bleeding as the main symptom caused by failure of blood to circulate in the vessels and blood discharges via the anus (hematochezia).

  • Symptoms: Defecation of bright red blood, sticky bowl movement, loose faeces, with or without abdominal pain and a bitter taste in the mouth.
