Fibroadenoma

Diagnosis

  • Young female (less than 35 years)
  • Mostly one breast and a single nodule sized 1-5 cm in diameter
  • Upper-outer quarter > upper-inner quarter > lower inner quarter
  • Round, hard, normal skin colour
  • Smooth surface, clear border, no adhesion with fascia or skin and very movable
  • Growing very slowly (could be years and no change in size)
  • No pain or very little pain
  • Can have symptoms of Liver Qi Stagnation

Treatment

Hyperplasia of mammary gland

Diagnosis

  • Middle-aged female
  • One or both sides, one or several nodules, various sizes
  • Tenacious and cyst-like
  • Unclear border but movable
  • Sizes related to emotion and menstruation (anger and pre-menstrual: larger)
  • Slight pain and more painful before menstruation
  • Normal skin colour but can have bruise if cyst breaks
  • Sometimes green, yellow, brown or bloody discharges from the nipple
  • Can have symptoms of Liver Qi Stagnation, or
  • Symptoms of Chong Ren weakness (Kidney Yang Deficiency and menstruation irregularities)
