Definition
Dizziness is a disease closely related to stroke and headache. It may be part of the clinical manifestation of a Cerebrovascular Accident - Zhong Feng (stroke) or Headache - Tou Tong, or accompanied by them. In many cases, it appears independently.
Dizziness can be classified into two categories according to its severity, head-lightness and vertigo. Head-lightness means the feeling of unstable position of the head, which can be totally cleared by lying down and closing the eyes. The feeling is most obvious when standing or sit in a moving car. There is no tremor of the eyes and hands. Generally, the patient has not sickness and vomiting. Vertigo is a much worse complaint. The patient feels the body being moving and the vision turning around. In the same time, sickness and vomiting can happen. The feeling is not relieved by lying down or closing eyes. Here, our major concern is the vertigo, because head-lightness can be a symptom of many diseases, while vertigo is much narrowed in terms of clinical diagnosis.
