Aiding the Tibetans
by Subhuti Dharmananda
The introduction of traditional Chinese medicine to the West, which was spurred on by the gradual opening of China that began in the late 1970s, has been a great benefit to us. People in many nations now have the option of utilizing a well-developed medical system rooted in the idea of balancing the body with natural therapies that has been imported from China and preserved for future generations. Chinese medicine has given thousands of Westerners careers that they enjoy as practitioners, teachers, or in other capacities, and has allowed development of a large industry for providing herbs, acupuncture needles, and other requirements of the profession.
