Volume 4 Issue 1 - Spring 2009

by Leon Hammer

This paper can be summed up in a small story.

A little girl once asked her mother why she cut off one end of the roast before putting it into the oven. The mother said, `Because that‟s the way my mother, your grandmother, used to do it. We‟ll have to ask her'.” Off they went to grandmother‟s house, only to find that grandma did it because her mother did it. The three generations then traipsed off to great-grandmother‟s house in order to seek the wisdom of the ages. When posed with the question great-grandma simply chuckled, `Why, dear, the pan was too small'."
