Hi all,
I've spent some time in China and was quite disappointed to see the lack of culture in modern China. It seems that a lot of culture has been destroyed, probably of course, during the cultural revolution.
Beijing today has just a handful of old buildings left. It looks more like New York than an old city. Even the Forbidden City has a Starbucks in it!
I would say that superstitious traditions still live in. For example, the popularity of number 8 and 0 and the hatred of the number 4. When you buy a mobile number the one with 4's in is cheap whereas the one with 8's and 0's is expensive. So i guess there are some traditions you can't kill off.
What do others think about this?
