Hi, I am an acupuncturist in Canada and am looking for feedback on what the acupuncture community has seen in efficacy in treating senior low back problems. The problem is that seniors have typically had their back pain for years and changes take time. Their ususally have a combination of old trauma with degeneration (i.e. blood stasis mixed with KD yin or Yang Xu usually). Maybe they have had their pain for 20 - 30+ years.

My patients have any of the following: stenosis, degeneration of lumbar. They may even have herniated discs

How many treatments are you finding is necessary for disc degeneration on average.
How often are you seeing your patients weekly.
What combinations of points are you finding that has worked well for you overall. Or what combination of treatment therapies have worked well for you.

I am finding that BL23, Du4, BL 60, KD3, cupping, massage really aren't making lasting changes. They feel good for a couple of days, then they start feeling pain again.

Guess I'm just looking for a reality check and would appreciate any feeback I receive. Thank you very much for your time in composing your feedback.
