Hi Abdul, welcome to this forum. I'm interested in the training available in Saudi Arabia, and the status of Chinese medicine there. How long have you been practicing and what has been your experience of it?
In Victoria, Australia where I live, we are regulated by government as a registered health profession, courses are approved by a statutory board which sets standards for course approval; qualifications are assessed, registration exams are conducted, a public register maintained, misconduct hearings are referred to a tribunal, and while we do not have the same priveleges as the medical profession, we are considered legitimate and valued health care providers (I think!). This has resulted in closer relationship with China's State TCM administration, and assisted in the viability of university programs and locally condducted research. However some practitioners believe it is a form of control that may stifle innovation and creative practice without clear benefit to practitioners. It has been an interesting debate in the 7 years since registration was introduced.
