Hi, My name is JoAnn and I have a dog that probably has a partial tear in her ccl (the equiv to the acl in humans). She's a 13 lb female spayed poodle mix. The diagnosis included statnated liver blood. Clinical signs included acute limping for one day, eliminated after the first dose of prescription strength NSAID, decreased range of motion, but not enough drawer / thrust on physical examination to diagnose a full tear (hence the reason we suspect a partial tear).
Along with exercise restriction (think: full time crate rest except for potty breaks and a couple of 5 - 10 minute walks a day) I'm using TCVM to have her treated. TCVM treatment includes acupuncture and two herbal mixes (one to release the stagnated liver blood, the other a "tendon / ligament" mixture - I don't know the specific ingredients, apologies for that).
I'm tying to determine what I can expect from the TCVM treatment. In other words, could it actually allow her body to repair the tear in the ligament, or will it simply augment the natural scarring (and resultant stability) that would normally occur.
Thank you for your time
JoAnn
